Sun, Beach and Sweat

I've been going through some of my classmates' blog and most of them didn't update except for alex and giuleta. So hardworking. July was an interesting and exciting month. I went for the Platinum expedition WOOHOO! Its the best expedition ever. Despite me being sunburned and being a few tones darker, i still enjoyed everything during the whole expedition. In Alex's blog she basically explained everything there is in Plat, so i dont really want to write anything more, mainly because i'm lazy. :)

Some of my most memorable memories in plat would be when my team mates had to carry me on the raft (don't know what its called), while i was sun bathing on it, not really enjoyable because i had to lay out pieces of our map on my hand to dry it. Everytime they put me down, the waves would wet the map once again, useless attempt in drying them cos they were already in pieces and at last our map became a ball of wet paper. :(

I also gained an unique experience during our homestay in Teluk Bahang. We were given 2 hours to learn 2 dances. Tarian Zapim and Silat (not a dance but some Malay martial arts performance). Tarian Zapim was very confusing. Me, who has no talent in dancing gave headache to that student who taught us the dance. I was like asking her to repeat every step of the dance. Priyangkha also tried helping me but i just wasnt good at dancing. Sorry! At last i was chosen to be the bride because i sucked at the dance and let my other group members to perform. Mun Heem and I became the newly wed couple hahahaha! We got to wear Malay traditional wedding costumes. One word: Uncomfortable. We just had to sit on stage and watch our group members to perform the 2 dances. After that, Dr. Rizal came up to give us his blessings, he said : Have a good life ahead. HAHAHAHA.

I think Amazing Race was the best among the other activities. Every group has their own vans to drive us around Penang. Penang Batik Factory: painted batik; Tropical Spice Garden: made spice tea, chili paste, coconut powder (dont know what is that); Teluk Bahang Beach: flied a wau; Butterfly farm: placed two millipedes on neck, kissed a toad and take pic of butterfly; Teluk Bahang Homestay: cooked 30 roti jala for lunch and ate it in 2 minutes; Bird park: fed parrots, polished turtle's back, and took pic of flying bird; Botanical garden: danced Penang Joget, got confused with a man whose name is Mama Eina; Chowrasa Market: sold 5 packets of Jeruk; Fort Conwallis: look for silver box (i found it haha :)); Padang: take turns cycling the trishaw; Warung Pasembur: 2 person per very very big plate of Pasembur (Worst challenge and worst food); Tanjung Marina City: End of Amazing Race (we had to run with our stomachs juggling with Pasembur). Echo started last and ended second. YAAAY! So Cool! Overall we didnt get last, just fourth out of five placings.

RIP Michael Jackson

I was not a fan of him, until today. Its ironic, he died, thats only when i take notice of him. Almost every channel on Astro was about him, they showed the cronology of his career and performances of his best hits, can't help but take notice. His performance was undeniably very good. I was born when he was at his peak of his career and also when it was starting to slide down. Of course i have heard a few of his songs on the radio but i just thought it was good and thats all. When i was able to understand more things, i only heard of his negative side which gave me a bad impression of him. Its a great loss, when i was watching his performance it gave me an idea of going for his concerts but i realized that he's dead and gone, its such a waste that he was planning for a comeback concert. Everyone has his ups and downs, but Michael Jackson's road down was just too short and narrow that he hit rock bottom at only 50.

Here are some of my favourite songs of his.

If there is such thing as reincarnation (in this case, i do hope so, at least his talents), in few years time we'll see someone who has the same qualities as an artist as great as Michael Jackson creating a new era.

Save the world

Haha. This title reminds me of the song sung by the cheras primary kids during cempaka voices concert. Moving on, the idea of save the world umbrella was cool and interesting before it was officially launched. The hottest topic nowadays is always about global warming and all sorts of damaging the world stuff. And now our school is actually doing something to somehow aid the world by having this umbrella, i thought maybe if all cempakans came together n save the world, the rate of climate change would slow down at least a bit.

But, after it was officially launched, i was actually disappointed. The ideas they gave are already quite well known already. "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle", this was known once upon a time. I was expecting them to come out with cool ideas that will really motivate us in doing the 3R's. Considering this is their first project, i hope they will use the funds wisely and carry out some really cool and effective projects, at least motivate us better in saving the world.

Oh i just found something really cool about firefox. There's this thing called firefox persona where u can change the appearance of ur firefox. Its damn cool. I tried designing my own design but it didnt fit the size of it. The hair was only visible. So i gave up. http://www.getpersonas.com/
Click on the picture to see full size. Unfortunately, the blog space is so small it covered up the most important part of this picture, Big Bang.

Exams are just around the corner, specifically 1 more week. I'm so dead. I've done badly for my 1st mid sem, considering that's our first exam for f4 but this will be our 2nd, so all the teachers are expecting us to do very much better than b4, i dont thing i can do that. I haven't started studying. Yet, i'm still here blogging. Alex, it's all ur fault!

Short

This post will be what the title says. Short. That goes the same for my hair. Short. Yay! I finally cut my hair! My mom didn't allow me to cut it at first because she thinks its a waste cutting my hair. She planned to sell my hair when it's long enough. HAHA! I've asked her to bring me to the saloon for several times already but she just finds a way to avoid it. Maybe the pleading got annoying after asking her so many times, she finally brought me to the saloon. Short hair! Its not that bad. As promised, short. So goodbye!

ps. dont bother that previous post giuleta posted. And I love GD!

Hello!

Hi people. Giuleta here! Audrey Lim is so so busy screwing GD so she asked me to update for her. As a good friend, I help her since this is her English blog. She really really love English so she desperately asked me to update for her. She promised me that she will give me a prize if I update for her.

So I did. I wonder what it is. SO since I'm blogging for her, let me tell a little story about Audrey Lim.

Audrey Lim is a girl. She have a long straight hair and she got a face like a cat. Don't get me wrong. I like her face like a cat. She's cute that way unlike Alexandra! So Audrey is somewhere now doing only god knows what. She is a very shy girl but she's not that shy when she's in front of GD. She's very very vain and she loves her skin. She always dream of marrying GD one day.

But as a good friend of Audrey, I want to wake her up and tell her that GD don't even know you! So I hope one day she will wake up!

That's all for today. I know I will blog for her somemore because she won't stop 'playing' with GD!

The school-less days

After 5 days of doing practically nothing, i'm starting to feel guilty. Therefore, i decided to blog, at least this can be considered as school work, to lessen the guilt...

I've been sick for 3 days. Flu n cough. No fever, i haven't had fever for years already. I'm considered as quite healthy. Unlike giuleta who is always the 1 to be absent from school due to her weak body (which i think is weak for having unhealthy food intake). I haven't been doing anything productive for the last few days. I was sleeping (i wasn't feeling well), stuck with laptop most of the time, searching for new songs, watching dramas, tv, reading fanfic (very addictive)... practically just enjoying holiday at home :P.

Saturday, i went for the prefect's interview. It was nerve racking when we were all waiting for our turn for the interview in the class. My turn was not long, i went in to the room with my best smile on....... (i do not want to spare the details as i feel really bad after that). I don't think i will make it but it was a great experience though.

Today is already wednesday n i havent even touched my schoool books... OMG! im gonna be so dead for the exams! I need a plan! I need to stop with the fanfic reading n the youtube! Oh gosh, i have tuitions for the next following days. I dont know when i'll have time to be at home and really study and i dont want to bury my laptop! It's too white to get dirty. I have accounts tuition exam tmr n i havent started studying but it can be done last minute, i hope its not hard.

I'm currently addicted to the song Say Yes by T-Max, an OST of the drama, Boys Before Flower. It's so addictive. It's those cheerful type of songs that says 'Say YES' and u'll jump along to it. I've been reading some of my classmates' blogs, their's are so interesting and funny compared to mine. I can't complain, the owner of this blog isn't those type of person... so Pn Azura and fellow blog readers, u'll have to bare with me.

Exhausted and Ecstasy

Yesterday, i went to cheras for cempaka voices practice. It was fun. We sang together with the cheras choir, though it wasnt that good, it was fun, everyone was singing out of joy (syok sendiri). Although it was just practice, i had butterflies in my stomach everytime when we practiced on stage. I wonder will i die of nervousness on the actual concert day, i hope not, that would be too embarassing. Food in the cheras canteen is not as good as the food sold in damansara canteen. Although cheras canteen looks cooler, the food is not worth the very expensive price there. I bought this thing called bread butter pudding (the name and its look wasnt appealing at all) bcos no one was lining up there. I bought it for the sake of not being crowded by people in the other line which was selling something which i had no idea what it was. So i bought it, regretted it, wished i had brought food from home instead, good thing it was only rm 1 cos i didnt manage to finish it.

Unfortunately, we had to skip a day of school. Good thing i had rachel to take down the homeworks for me. oh yea, Happy brithday Rachel! and thank you so much. Skipping school isnt fun, u have to catch up with the studies and homework after u come back, which doubles up the work load cos u have to do self study and try to understand it and then do the homework.

Tomorrow will be another day spending in cheras. I have lots of homework to do! i'll have to skip school tomorrow again, pile up the homework...T_T. On the bright side... is there? uh... life still has to go on, so i'll try my best to cope up with the homework and not let it kill me off so early.

Busy, busy, busy...

I've not been updating consistently. I admit im not a good blogger as i do not have much interest in it either. But blogging seems to be a convenient and a fast way to improve composition writing and grammar. I too shall take this opportunity to put more effort in this as i would also like to write better compositions.

Last Friday, 20 February
A special assembly was held in conjunction of the campaign "To My Friend in Gaza". The chairman of this campaign, Datuk Paduka Marina Mahathir was invited to this honourable assembly to collect the cards created by us cempakans. I as one of the member of the Cempaka Voices, were to perform in this assembly. We have been practicing almost everyday just to perfect the performance. A total of 3 songs were sung by us on that day. After the performance, Miss Ann told us it was good. At least all the hard work has paid off... Till the next time... Cempaka Voices in Concert...

Saturday, 21 February
Busy preparing for Swimming Gala booth. Alexis, Jacqueline, Kaylyn, Alexandra and i are setting up a booth on swimming gala. Alexix, Jacqueline and Kaylyn are preparing the food whereas Alexandra and i are preparing the beverages. We decided to sell soya bean, cincau and soya cincau. haha! Basically it just needs 2 materials. I was given the job to bring cincau. So, i bought 7 cubes of cincaus. At first i had only 2 but it didnt seem enough, i went to buy another 5 more.. which i regretted it on the next day...

Sunday, 22 February, MY 16th BIRTHDAY! HAHA!/Swimming Gala
Woke up at 5.30am. Pack the stuffs that are needed to bring to school. Oh yea! i forgot to mention that my mom bought 5 big BIG (the square 1) bottles of mineral water. At first i thought it was the 1.5 litre 1 but it turned out a size larger... :"( But fortunately i had help from my neighbour whom car pooled me to school. Other than that i also brought 2 chill box. :"-( Selling things was fun. It was an eye opener for me. There was 1 thing that bothered me, unfortunately, the booth behind us was a music dedication/loud banging music booth. The music they played was entertaining at the same time an ear sore! It was banging all day! We had to shout to the other members to communicate...-_-" At the end of the day, we gave most of the food and drinks out for free. When the price was selling at rm2, no one bothered looking at us, but when it was free, ppl came rushing to us...@_@ At least we didnt have to bring back all those food that will eventually be thrown out or wasted. Oh, and for my birthday, i drank 5-6 cups of soya cincau... yea, happy birthday to me.

Chinese New Year

My favorite celebration of the year. Today is the 2nd day of CNY but ive not even posted anything about it. sorry! this is because my family and i have been busy rushing from house to house visiting, collecting ang pao. haha! this is 1 of the reasons i love cny but its not about the money that i love, it's the tradition. It is said that an ang pao is a good luck charm that will chase the evil away, but usually an ang pao is given to a child so that he/she can grow up well.

CNY eve / Reunion dinner:-
It's a yearly rutine that my family and i will spend reunion lunch in my grandma's (father's mother) house in the afternoon and then dinner at my kao fu's (mother's brother) house at night and this rutine was carried out without fail this year too.

Lunch
We arrived at my grandma's house at 1pm. We were the first to arrive. By that time, the dinning table were already full of dishes that looked great and also tasted great. Few minutes later, my aunt (father's sister) and her family arrived. Soon, we all sat down around table and started digging in. Actually, the adults are only allowed to sit at the table, the children had to sit at another table as there were no space left. I, my siblings and my cousin were put into the children category as we are the youngest had to sit at the 'children''s table. Food was great. It was prepared by my grandma. I've also loved my grandma's cooking.

This is the list of food she prepared/the typical type of food during chinese festivals:-
  1. chinese chopped chicken
  2. braised pork leg with sea cucumber
  3. fried prawn
  4. roast pork
  5. fried fish
  6. soup
  7. mushroom, chicken feet with abalone
  8. mixed vegetable
After lunch, we all sat down in the living room and started chit chatting with each other. At around 4, we went back home. We had an hour or more of resting time before we go to my kao fu's house. I was so tired after the lunch, i decided to sleep. Woke up at 6pm, bathed, changed into a new set of clothes, went out.

Dinner
We arrived at around 8pm. By then, all my mother's sibling's family all had arrived which means my family was the last to arrive. And, they already had their dinner. haha! No big deal. We ate the leftovers, which was still good and warm. Dinner was prepared by my kao mo (kao fu's wife).

The list of food she prepared/we ate:-
  1. chinese chopped chicken
  2. chicken soup
  3. fried dumpling (her signature dish)
  4. mushroom and chicken feet
  5. duck - cooked with black sauce and ginger
  6. mixed vegetable
It was delicious but i still prefer my grandma's food best. My kao fu is very funny, he is always joking around, making the atmosphere more cheerful and bringing the cny fever up. We went back at 12am. By the end of the day, everyone in my family gained a thing in common which is our weight. Everyone was like complaining that their weight was a kg or 2 more. haha! And this is only the starting of CNY.

Me, Myself and I

I'm not pretty, neither am i smart nor the outstanding one. wow, i'm so negative about myself. I'm not emo, i just don't like bragging about myself, it's not like there are much to brag about. Well, this my first blog and also the first post. I'll have to appreciate this more. haha. Blogging is so not my thing, it's like talking to myself but at the same time letting ppl know what u're talking about. my god, what a lousy theory.

Shall i continue talking about myself or shall i not? NO! so... ttfn!
